The 22nd of July is Mary Magdalene’s feast day. Mary Magdalene in the Bible was the Mary who consecrated Yeshua, Jesus in the traditon of the Priestesses of that time such as Priestesses of Auset and Het-Heru and Ishtar. Sacred Anointing was performed to set someone or something apart as Sacred or Holy.

The body of the dead and dying would also be anointed. The King would be anointed by his wife to declare him Sacred. With the Buck Moon falling around this feast day this is the perfect time to make a self declaration. This is a time to decide what you will release and what you call in. This is the perfect time to set yourself apart and declare your intentions over your body and life. Reclaim your body and call back all parts of you that have been neglected or hijacked by things that do not align with your path and intentions.

Mix 3 drops of an essential oil to 5 mls of a vegetable based carrier oil and anoint your body.

I always have some form of flowers or herbs macerating and more often than not I have a jar of Roses or Lotus flowers macerating in Grapeseed oil. My Pink Lotus body oil is coming to an end and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to declare myself as a Holy Vessel of the Divine and Divine light in honor of Mary Magdalene and her feast day on the 22nd July. Mary Magdalene received and initiated purification rituals serving in the traditon of the Goddess. These rituals serve to ignite the spirit and to open the heart.

These yellow Roses have been macerating for 3-4 weeks. These wild Roses were gifted to me and this is just such a perfect time to make a new batch of Rose oil.

To make the Rose oil

Jar filled with Roses were left in a dark cupboard for 3-4 weeks. I separated the flowers from the oil with a muslin cloth and sieve laid on top of an old tea towel.

the Rose petals are dry and crispy and the properties of the Rose and its essence have been transferred to the oil.

I squeezed all of the oil out of the Roses transferring them to a new jar.

As I do this I am focusing on creating an anointing oil to use in a sacred ritual in honor of Mary Magdalene.

My Pink Lotus anointing oil is pretty much finished and I decide to use the remains of it for the base of this new oil. The glass bottle still has the Pink Lotus petals in it and some of the Blue Lotus essential oil in it and Rose Quartz chips. I add the Rose oil I have just separated to the bottle and add some pieces of Frankincense and a few more dried Pink Lotus petals.

I reconsecrate and cleanse the bottle with my own purifying blend.

I have alot of Rose oil left so I decide to create a “Mother oil” myrraphore base oil by adding Frankincense to the Rose oil in a jar to macerate and use as and when needed.

To consecrate my body as a Holy Vessel and to fully embrace the Rose Priestess and Myrraphore path I create Sacred space by lighting a candle and dropping my attention and focus down into my heart space.

I focus on releasing fear of sharing my gifts and any blockages to me progressing on the Priestess Path.

I call in the energy of Mary Magdalene chanting her name softly over the Rose Lotus and Frankincense infused oil.

I spend some time connecting with the oil and then I take a Rose bud and breathe my intention into the Rose bud. I hold my hand over the Rose bud placed on a hot charcoal disc.

I send all of my intentions into the Rose and then release my intention out to the universe by lighting the flower.

I give the Rose back to Mother Earth as an offering and as a symbol of my dedication to this path.

I take the Rose oil and I rub it over my Heart chakra, Stomach, Throat and Third Eye repeating “My body is sacred and a Holy Vessel of Divine Light”

You too can place some dried Roses or flowers into a carrier oil such as Olive oil, Sunflower oil or even just use Olive oil by itself. You can create a Sacred space and mark this full moon or Mary Magdalene’s feast day with a dedication to your self and your soul’s purpose and life path. Even if you don’t have any items to hand you can choose to do this ritual at any time. You can speak your intentions into the oil or call in a Goddess to empower your oil and then use this oil as part of ritual of your own choice.
