In the instructional video below I show you how to create your own natural incense. The recipe is based on Ancient Egyptian Temple Incense that was used by Priests and Priestesses in service to the Neteru (gods)
you can customise the recipe by adding other aromatic plant powders. You can use a mortar and pestle to grind your plant material into a powder or use a coffee machine or juicer machine.
Choose powders that suit your intention.
You will need:
Ground Cinnamon Powder
Ground Ginger Powder
Optional Ground Nutmeg
Water (add a little bit at a time)
Honey (to assist binding)
Optional Red Wine
Optional choice of essential oils

Combine the powders, oils, honey and water to create a moist sand consistency. Work with the mixture until it becomes dough like. Add more powder or water or wine to get the consistency right. The mixture should be mouldable so that you can mould it into cone shapes.
Other materials used to create incense are listed below.
The base material for cone incense and incense sticks include Saw Dust or Activated Charcoal or Makko powder. These ingredients help the incense to burn easily and evenly.
To combine your ingredients you can use Honey, Ghee, Coconut Oil, Arabic Gum, Guardian Gum, Ground Copal, Ground Frankincense, Arrow Root Powder, Activated Charcoal, Xanthan Gum Powder. These ingredients help the mixture to bind together
You can also use a toothpick to pierce a hole through the bottom of the cone once you have shaped it. The hole will help the cone burn better once it has dried.
The benefits of the ingredients I have used are listed below:
Ground Cinnamon Powder: Abundance Protection Healing
Ground Ginger Powder: Courage Empowerment Vitality
Ground Nutmeg: Intuition Dreamwork Clarity
Water: Flow Purification Adaptability
Honey: Sweetness Harmony
Red Wine: Celebration Connection Transmutation
Cedarwood Essential Oil: Grounding Stability Sacredness

Ginger Essential Oil: Energy Passion Focus
The incense can be used as a sacred offering or for meditation or spiritual work. The blend I created can be used for manifestation and prosperity, healing, protection, empowerment, stability and harmony.
If your incense cones have trouble burning you can burn them on a charcoal disc or revisit your formula and use or substitute any of the base materials.
