When Women Were Healers: A Divine Feminine Approach To Wellness & Energy Healing

Long before modern medicine based on science, healing was a spiritual, emotional, and physical art woven into daily life—carried out by mothers, midwives, shamans, priestesses, and wise women of every culture. The women’s way of healing was to work with what ever she had. Picture a woman living in a field wherever, the country fields in England, the Hills of the Ande’s, an outback village in Africa. The typical family set up would either see the man going to work to do the hard labour out tasks to support the family, gather wood for fire and food to eat through hunting or fishing. The woman might be raising young children, now it was not only women who were Healers there were men too but the woman was the Healer of the home. Information would be passed down from the elders which herbs to pick and boil, what to do with them. What items to hang in the house to ward off evil spirits, what to burn to cleanse the house, how to sweeten the smell of the clothing. How to comfort and assist someone grieving or dying. Some of it is natural human instinct and some of the skills brought by female healers are the ones that come from a womans ability to tap into her intuition, to easily spiritually connect with other realms for healing. An energy healing modality built on the framework of the Divine Feminine is a totally different energy stream to one built on the principles of the Divine Masculine.

I personally now see working with Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine principles in sacred union as an integral part of a new holistic approach fit for the 5D and beyond Golden Age where we move into heart alignment and unity consciousness.

In today’s fast-paced world, many of us are seeking more than symptom-based wellness. We want healing that addresses the root cause whilst taking into account the wholeness of who we are: body, mind, spirit, and soul. A holistic approach to wellness acknowledges that true vitality comes not only from what we eat or how we move, but also from how we feel, sense, connect, and intuit.

For those of us on the energy healing path, especially through the Divine Feminine lens, wellness begins with remembering how to feel deeply, trust our inner knowing, and listen to what our body is telling us.

Today, many men and women are looking to alternative and complimentary healing methods to assist them in their daily lives. We have spent hundreds of years focused on the physical in the West and little if anything on our spiritual selves. By spiritual I mean spiritual individual grit. If we are looking out there for someone to save us does that mean we get to just clutch our hands and pray and declare legence to a religion because we were told thats how we get to heaven? Religion is not a get out clause. We believe so we will be saved no we actually have to do the work to save our souls by acting right (I digress).

According to Egyptian text our heart will be weighed against a feather, we will be judged individually not based on what we believe in but the quality and purity of our heart and what we did, the actions we did or did not take in essence how we lived and walked amongst others on earth. It wasnt only the Egyptians that in the past believed that the spiritual and physical were inextricably linked. To me it seems highly likely that actually developing the self and taking time to assess the different avenues of our lives and our own ways of being in the world alongside seeking assistance or connection with a Higher Power/God/Source supports this spiritual grit that in my opinion is so needed in the world. This approach allows us to improve here and now whilst still taking responsibility for ourselves with the knowledge of our place in the eco system. It is a lack of taking responsibility that can lead us into a downward spiral of self loathing, disappointment and depression. When we actively become participants in our own care it leads to the feel good factor. We feel on point even if things aren’t perfect when we are taking action to improve our health and our lives.

We are waking up to the possibility that wellness is more than just about our physical health and spiritual is more than just religion. When spirituality became conflated with religion and health became conflated with the physical we cut off key areas of our health. We are more than just the physical body, there are more planes than just the physical plane that you can see. Our emotions, our mental health, our environment, our work, our lifestyle, our habits all effect our health and that is why I love a holistic approach to healing and an holistic approach to wellness.

Wellness is not only about removing illness—it is about reclaiming wholeness. A Divine Feminine approach to wellness invites us to listen, to feel, and to connect with the deep intelligence of our bodies, nature, and spirit. Through this lens, healing becomes intuitive, rhythmic, and deeply personal. We get to work on an individual basis with our friends family and clients creating individual customised items and sessions to assist in feelings of wellness and to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Holistic wellness is not about perfection or constant positivity. It’s about cultivating awareness—of your emotions, your energy, your environment, and your cycles. It’s a dynamic, ever-unfolding relationship with your whole self. A holistic approach is deeply sacred. We work on multiple levels as Divine Feminine energy healers seeking to unearth a path of Wholeness and Wellness for every individual.

Here’s 5 practical Divine Feminine Ways to Uplift Your Energy Today

1. Begin the Day With an Intuitive Body Scan

Start your day by checking in with your body. Place one hand on your heart and one on your womb or belly. Breathe and ask, What is alive in me today? Notice any sensations, emotions, or energy shifts without judgment.

“The body never lies. She only asks to be heard.” —Unknown

2. Work With Plant Spirits as Emotional Allies

Plants are not only medicinal—they are conscious beings that hold energetic gifts. Sip rose tea for heart healing, anoint with blue lotus oil for spiritual expansion, or burn mugwort for clarity and dreams.

Let them be your companions, not just your remedies.

3. Anoint Your Chakras With Intention

Use sacred oils (rose, frankincense, sandalwood) to anoint your root, heart, and crown chakras. Infuse the act with prayer or affirmation. Allow touch and scent to connect you with your sacred energy centers.

“Anointing is remembering that your body is a living altar.”

4. Align With Moon Phases Through Simple Ritual

Set intentions with the new moon, release with the full moon. Create a moon altar, journal your emotional tides, or meditate outside under moonlight. This cyclical awareness keeps you connected to both the Earth and your inner rhythms.

5. Practice One Act of Sacred Movement

Dance, sway, stretch, or breathe into your hips and heart. Let movement be medicine. There is no “right” way—only a return to your natural flow.

“Movement awakens what words cannot reach.”

Returning to Our Nature

To walk the path of the healer today is an act of both remembrance and reclamation. Whether you’re an energy healer, a seeker, or someone longing to reconnect with your body and spirit, the Divine Feminine approach reminds you:

You are already whole.
You carry the wisdom of the women before you.
And healing is your birthright.
